Downsman Team Win the County Shortmat Knockout Plate
Having been knocked out in the 1st round of the cup by the champions of the previous 4 years, and incidentally winners of this years competition, the Downsman were entered into the plate competition.  The club went on to beat teams from Ashington and East Preston to reach the semi-final to play against Mannings Heath, a team we had lost to twice in the league.
This semi-final, and final, were played at Westergate on the 26th March and we were successful in beating Mannings Heath 45/28 to progress to the final to play local rivals Horsham.  This was a close and tense game, coming down to the last end but the team held their nerve to win by 2 shots 40/38
