Today (22nd Aug) saw the successful end to the Bowls Festival Cup.
This event involves the 6 outdoor clubs of Crawley (The Downsman, Popes Mead, Southgate Park, The Hawth, Crawley Town and the Blind & Disabled Bowlers) playing each other over 3 weeks to raise money for the mayors charity. The final series of matches was held at The Downsman in West Green when His Worship, The Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Raj Sharma was in attendance and received a cheque for £535 for his two charities, The Posh Club & Manor Green College.
It was, as always, a privilege to play bowls and raise money for the mayors charities at the same time.
This year the event was won by The Downsman in a very tight finish.
