Downsman Bowls Club Update - Aug/Sept 2022

Ladies do the club proud
Following on from the success of Steve Maslen at the Men's County Finals, three of our ladies qualified for the Ladies version.

Steve's daughters, Holly and Hannah qualified for the U25 Ladies final with Holly becoming champion. Nevertheless, they both qualified for the National Finals being held at Leamington, the same venue that hosted the Commonweath games.
The schedule there was very tight with 3 matches per day and both ladies did us and themselves proud, with Hannah progressing furthest, losing in the semi-final, but beating last year's champion along the way.

The third representative at the Ladies County Finals was Roz Ludbrook. She won her ladies secretary/delegates semi-final but had to play the final on the same (hot) day and basically ran out of steam; still a great effort.
