Downsman Bowls Club Update - March 2024

SHORTMAT
The club is continuing its success in the county shortmat league and cup.  In the league we sit top of our regional division with games in hand over those below us. That said we face tricky away fixtures in our last 3 games.

Stop Press:  On the 6th Mar we got the 4 points we needed to win our area Div1 title with 2 games to spare. Congratulations to all the players who contributed to this fantastic achievement.

We have also reached the semi-final of the cup, which is being played on the 16th March at Westergate, followed by the final in the afternoon.

Stop Press:   We won our semi-final against Fittleworth but sadly could not overcome Infinity in the final.  Nevertheless runners-up in the county cup is no mean feat.

OUTDOORS
Membership renewals have been issued and we have already attracted a few new members.
Work on our green continues, when the weather allows, and is currently looking good for the coming season.
