DOWNSMAN BOWLS CLUB UPDATE #2 - March 2025 

Shortmat County
Our league season is now complete, finishing 3rd in North East Div1, just outside qualification for the county-wide playoffs against teams from South West Div1.

However, in the knockout cup, the semi-final and final were played at Worthing Pavilion on March 23rd.
We played and beat Crablands in the semi final 34-25 which meant we played our old foes Infinity in the Final who we lost to in the final last year and who have now won it 7 out of the last 8 years played.
They are indeed a very good side but we gave them a good run for their money finally losing out 39-22

Our Charity for 2025
The club is supporting St Catherine's Hospice, a fantastic local charity.  We shall be holding several events over the year as well as encouraging members to do their own thing.
We are grateful for the tour of their facilities to see first hand the great work they do but funds being what they are, not all beds are in use.
