Downsman Bowls Club Update - May 29th 2023

Well the season is now well underway having now played 8 friendly matches, albeit with mixed results.

Our Open Day, held on May 27th under Bowls England's Big Bowls Weekend banner, was a huge success that drew 31 people wishing to try their hand at bowls; some even tried shortmat too.
We were honoured to meet Jon Cockcroft, Chief Executive of Bowls England, who popped in to see how the event was proceeding and he seemed suitably impressed.

We are now offering follow up sessions between 1000 and 1200 on Saturday 3rd, Sunday 11th, Saturday 17th and Saturday 24th June for those who wish to have a further go and hope that many decide to join us in this great sport.  Don't worry if you missed the Open Day, you are still welcome to anyone of these sessions; just wear flat shoes.
